Rasnaber keeps the faith in Libbok

Manie Libbok has been paired with Cobus Reinach in Sunday’s quarter final. They have also gone with a 5-3 split on the bench with Faf de Klerk, Handre Pollard and Willie le Roux on the bench.

Duane Vermelen has been selected at 8 and together with Siya Kolisi and PSDT will have to keep a very good and physical French back row in check.

Sean Everitt steps down as head coach

The Sharks today announced that by mutual consent the CellC Sharks head coach, Sean Everitt has stepped down from his role with immediate effect.

Neil Powell will oversee the rest of the URC and first foray into the Heiniken Cup. He will be assisted by the current senior coaching structure.

I do feel for Sean as he’s been with the Sharks since 2008 and did coach the Sharks U19’s to the title in 2018. That said unfortunately the recent form and results did not leave Sharks management with a lot of choices as something had to change and it’s usually the head coach that must fall on his sword.

I personally wish Sean all the best for his future!

Strong team for the Bulls

Due to the Omicron variant disrupting the URC schedule the SA teams will play each other this weekend.

Sean Everitt has selected a strong team featuring a number of Springboks, but I am getting the midfield which I have always been waiting for to see – Lukhanyo Am in the 12 jersey and Jeremy Ward in 13.
