Cell C Sharks URC team to face Munster
The Cell C Sharks team for the final group game (and almost certainly the last home game) of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship on Saturday evening was announced today.
In what is probably the strongest team available for selection there is only one change to the starting line-up, with Jeandre Labuschagne replacing Hyron Andrews in the second row.
On the bench there is the welcome return of two Sprinboks as Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Aphelele Fassi makes a return to the match day 23. The only other change to the match day 23 sees Reniel Hugo inclusion on the bench.
The Cell C Sharks victory over Munster three weeks ago will certainly count for very little as, although Munster seemingly does not have a lot to play for, as they’ve already qualified for the knock-out games as well as next year’s Heineken Champions Cup, they can still finish fourth if they beat the Sharks with a bonus point and Glasgow lose to Connacht without any bonus points.
If the home side want any chance to still qualify for next years’ Heineken Champions Cup they simply must win the game, although even that might not be enough to ensure qualification, as they also need the Bulls and/or Connacht to lose their final game against Leinster and Glasgow.
As this will be the last home game for Thomas du Toit and Siya Kolisi, I’m sure the players and supporters will want nothing less than a victory as a sent off for the two players.
Saturday’s clash at Hollywoodbets Kings Park kicks off at 6.15pm.
