Giliomee for the Stormers

Coach Vowles has selected a number of Junior Boks for the clash in Cape Town (3rd away game in a row). Luan Giliomee is still available for the Sharks although he is moving to Pretoria before the URC starts. Liam van Wyk, Rambo Kubheka and Khuthi Rasivhaga have all been selected on the bench.

The Sharks initially competed well with the Cheetahs but then lost shape in the second half to lose by 22 points (and also did not manage a bonus point). The Stormers come off an even bigger loss against neighbours Boland and will be desperate to win.

The Sharks will have to hang onto the ball for longer. The scrum was really outstanding but lineout losses robbed the Sharks of momentum. I am still not really sold on Tim Swiel at 10 – his place kicking is excellent but his general play and passing especially could do with improvement.

15 Luan Giliomee, 14 Christie Grobbelaar, 13 Marnus Potgieter, 12 Janco Purchase, 11 Lyle Matthews, 10 Tim Swiel, 9 Ross Braude, 8 Thomas Dyer (c), 7 Danio Botha, 6 Luaan Olivier, 5 Deon Slabbert, 4 Johan Momsen, 3 Simphiwe Ngobese, 2 Bryce Calvert, 1 Cameron Dawson.
