Overhaul for Perth

Overhaul for Perth

Rassie is resting a number of his first choice players such as Bongi Mbonambi, Frans Malherbe, Siya Kolisi, Damian de Allende, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Willie le Roux. Aphelele Fassi, Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi, Morne van den Berg, Ruan Nortje, Salmaan Moerat, Thomas du Toit, Johan Grobbelaar and Jan-Hendrik Wessels will get another chance to impress for the Boks.

He has kept some big guns including Malcolm Marx, Ox Nche, Vincent Koch and Eben Etzebeth on the bench. Two flyhalves Manie Libbok and Handre Pollard have been selected on the bench. Grant Williams can cover wing and scrumhalf and we may expect Pollard at 12 at some point later in the game.

I expect the Wallabies will come out hurting after last week’s pakslae in Brisbane, and all the changes will disrupt the Bok team a bit. So it should be a closer affair than last week especially in the first half, but once the team settles I expect the Boks to win with another bonus point.

15 Aphelele Fassi, 14 Cheslin Kolbe, 13 Jesse Kriel, 12 Lukhanyo Am, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 9 Morne van den Berg, 8 Elrigh Louw, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 Marco van Staden, 5 Ruan Nortje, 4 Salmaan Moerat (c), 3 Thomas du Toit, 2 Johan Grobbelaar, 1 Jan-Hendrik Wessels.
Subs: 16 Malcolm Marx, 17 Ox Nche, 18 Vincent Koch, 19 Eben Etzebeth, 20 Kwagga Smith, 21 Grant Williams, 22 Manie Libbok, 23 Handre Pollard.
