4 Scrumhalves for Romania
Rienaber has selected all 4 scumhalves in the squad for the game against Romania. Grant Williams starts at wing with Faf covering the flyhalf position from the bench. Manie Libbok is rested with Damian Willemse running the back line. Bongi Mbonambi captains the side with Deon Fourie covering from the bench.
By beating Scotland the Boks already has one foot in the quarter finals. Winning all their remaining matches will place them first in the pool. However permutations can get interesting:
- should Scotland beat Ireland and the Boks lose to Ireland with all three teams ending on the same number of log points.
- The Boks and Ireland draw their match and end on the same number of log points.
Normally when teams have equal log points the team that won in the pool game is ranked higher, but in both these scenarios the teams would be rated on points difference, try difference, total points and total tries.
The Boks need to get a bonus point win, but they also would want to work on their overall points difference to be on the safe side. That means the team needs to stick to their structures and not let the game unravel.
