Bongi captains in Argentina

Coach Rienaber is giving a number of his fringe players a chance to stake a claim for the WC squad. Hopefully this group will manage to put up a better effort than the abysmal showing by the more first choice players at Ellis Park.

The axis of Libbok, Esterhuizen and Am looked very good against the Wobblies but the Puma defense will again live close to the offside line and not give them much space and time. Reinach is currently more accurate than Faf in the box kicking department – so Moodie and Mapimpi should at least have a better chance to arrive at the same time as the ball. Mapimpi is under pressure to lose his 11 jersey to KLA – so he will need a big game.

The Boks is currently negating their powerful maul by being inaccurate at lineout time, and also need to improve on their exit play. Likewise discipline and handling will have to improve markedly if they do want a win in BA.

15 Damian Willemse, 14 Canan Moodie, 13 Lukhanyo Am, 12 Andre Esterhuizen, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Manie Libbok, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Jasper Wiese, 7 Franco Mostert, 6 Deon Fourie, 5 Marvin Orie, 4 Jean Kleyn, 3 Thomas du Toit, 2 Bongi Mbonambi (c), 1 Trevor Nyakane.
