Cell C Sharks Currie Cup team to face Toyota Cheetahs
The Cell C Sharks Currie Cup coach has once again made numerous changes to the team that will face the Toyota Cheetahs team on Friday afternoon at 14h30.
The whole front row are rotated with Khwezi Mona, Fez Mbatha and Khutha Mchunu staring and last weeks starting three players (Dian Bleuler, Dan Jooste and Hanro Jacobs) playing from the bench.
Ockie Barnard shifts to lock in place of Reniel Hugo who will be resting this week. Henco Venter starts at 8 and James Venter is the new captain.
Amongst the backs, Lionel Cronje starts in place of Fred Zeilinga who will also be resting this week. Marnus Potgieter starts at 11 as Yaw Penxe takes over at 14 from Phikolomzi Sobahle who shifts to the bench. In the final change to the starting team Murray Koster, also shifts to the bench with Alwayno Visagie taking over at inside centre.
Marco de Witt and Dylan Richardson are new additions to the bench.
Although I fully understand the idea of rotating player to keep them “fresh” I can’t help but feel that there is to many changes each week, that must have a huge impact on the team’s rhythm and interplay. But what does and old prop/hooker know of rhythm and interplay. Go Sharks!!!
