Two teams for Friday
JPP has selected a strong but likely undercooked team for the clash against the Pumas. Fez Mbatha, Emile van Heerden, Manu Tshituka, Vincent Tshituka, Phepsi Buthelezi, Jaden Hendrikse, Francois Venter and Yaw Penxe will see their first game in the Currie Cup. The Pumas still have a chance to reach the semi-finals whereas the Sharks can at best end up at 6th position on the log.
Another team will play Saracens at 16:00 before the Currie Cup game. Some of the players such as Jean Smith and Jaco Williams will play in the first game and then also feature on the bench for the main feature. Luckhanyo Am will make his comeback from the bench against Saracens. Interestingly Batho Hlekani plays at lock against the Pumas whereas Jason Jenkins will feature against Saracens. It is probably mainly a matter of Plum spreading his URC players across the two teams.
A name that is missing is Jordan Hendrikse – possibly injured?
